McDonalds' McItaly burger fails to impress Italian critics
McDonald's has teamed up with the Italian government to create the "McItaly", a fast food hamburger with a national twist, but the unusual initiative is giving some food lovers cultural indigestion.
The burger, hawked with the slogan "McDonald's speaks Italian," is made entirely of Italian DOP products (Protected Designation of Origin) and the meal's ingredients make up the colours of the Italian flag - red, white and green.

Crates of Scotch whisky and brandy have been recovered from the ice under the Antarctic hut where Ernest Shackleton stayed.

Priest checks fingerprints for mass attendanceWARSAW (Reuters) – A Polish priest has installed an electronic reader in his church for schoolchildren to leave their fingerprints in order to monitor their attendance at mass, the Gazeta Wyborcza daily said on Friday.
The pupils will mark their fingerprints every time they go to church over three years and if they attend 200 masses they will be freed from the obligation of having to pass an exam prior to their confirmation, the paper said.

America's annual Groundhog Day ritual is cruel to the weather-forecasting rodent, which should be replaced with a robot, animal rights activists have said.
