Relax, Ray, it's all good.

The final chapter (which I'm editing as we speak) features more questions and comments from MAD fans and your various colleagues. And since we talked in April, I've had a few e-mails from a couple of familiar MAD names who were just heartbroken at the thought of missing my interview deadline, and are now delighted that they're going to be a part of this "Almapalooza!"

So stay tuned...it's gonna be a dandy!

And I'm delighted that you've enjoyed the first stretch of this feature, Ray. I was starting to feel bad that we'd delayed it so long - but believe me, yours is a story worth telling! (In its entirety, I might add - I left very, very few "empty cans" behind when I sat down to edit this piece!)

Ray Alma's work speaks for itself.. it needs a place in the Smithsonian.. If Archie Bunkers Chair is there..why not Ray's work? I say we do a huge write in Campaign.. And what a gifted talent in both art and interview.. i LOVED THE ENTIRE PIECE,, mORE mORE

My heavens...the Caped Crusader - I'm deeply touched...please say Hi to Commissioner Gordon for me...

Part IV is on the way - and it's got tons of contributions from several of your MAD favourites!

In the meantime, I thought I'd share a couple of photos that Ray was nice enough to send me in the run-up to the interview. These were both taken on the set of Friends, when Ray was invited to see a taping of the show during its final season as a "thank-you" for his work on one of MAD's Friends articles in #435.

The first is a shot of Ray on the toilet in "Monica's" apartment-set, with a copy of the MAD I just mentioned...

And while Ray wasn't able to meet any of the Friends cast on his trip to the set (they were tied up with those snot-nosed little brats from the Children's Wish Foundation), he WAS able to score some quality moments with David Arquette (aka. Mr. Courtney Cox), who apparently had some time to kill in-between cameo appearances in Muppet movies...

In all seriousness, Ray says Arquette is "a big MAD fan" and was delighted to meet the man who finally drew him in MAD (even if it was only from the back!).
