That was actually last year, and I no longer mention NGSD as Don Martin's widow apparently doesn't like anyone mentioning her late husband in connection with MAD. _________________ MAD-ly,

I was unaware of this. Was there a falling out between MAD and Mr. Martin? |

You could say that, yes, a rift did develop between Don Martin and MAD back in the day. _________________ http://www.themadstore.com

As I understood it through UK publisher Ron Letchford (and I say this with respect to Don's widow; to the memories of Gaines, Martin and Letchford; and to everyone else) Don Martin left Mad over disagreements with Bill Gaines over monetary rights to the DM work. This was a shame, as DM left behind at Mad excellent and appropriate scripters for his drawings, including Duck Edwing and others.
If a sour taste has been left, I regard this as a shame because MAD definitely benefited Don M and vice versa, to the extent that neither was quite the same when the other was missing.
