This is explained easily. Through the use of the Internet, banking, and communication can be done from home. Some of us even work from home and have our paychecks directly deposited into our bank accounts. _________________ Watching television is not an activity.

My previous post gives the gist of what I said, but is worded very differently than I originally wrote it. Did you delete it and then somehow recreate it? If so, please do not do that again.
If I am mistaken, please ignore this post. _________________ Watching television is not an activity. |

MY Apologies!!
I tried to quote your post. But, I accidentally edited it, and pruned it down. For moderators, the buttons are right next to each other. (For old moderator eyes, the two buttons look amazingly similar).
Then, the end result was my weak paraphrasing of your thoughtful prose.
It was unintentional and I will do my my best not to repeat my actions.
The thing that is interesting to me about this trend, is that over the years, I have worked with many foreign engineers who say that children living with their parents is normal in their countries. They did not understand the trend of Americans leaving home to move to a part of the country where growth and new jobs are. Now, with the growth of American jobs being non existent, the current trend makes our demographics appear more like emerging economies. ... and like you mentioned, you can do all your interactions over the InterWebs now ... |

Thanks for letting me know what happened. But maybe it's time for the moderator to get a new script for his eyeglasses. _________________ Watching television is not an activity. |

I got my driver's license when I was 17, but didn't own a vehicle for twenty years. I lived in Brooklyn and used mass transit, so I didn't feel the need to own a car. When I moved upstate, the first job I got was within walking distance of my house, so I didn't need a car until a year later when I got a job that was several miles away. That's when I bought my g/f's uncle's truck for $200. My first vehicle at the age of 37.
Apparently, I'm ahead of the curve. _________________ Watching television is not an activity. |

Yup. My niece is 31 and she has never had a driving lesson. The same for my 27 year old nephew. |

Young Americans more likely to read Mad Magazine because they are all stuck at home with no wheels.
