Of course social media isn't a fad. Some sources of social media may be fads, but the whole phenomenon is not. _________________ Watching television is not an activity. |

Definitely a social revolution has taken place in the 21st century. How permanent & long lasting these social networking sites become remains to be seen?.They predicted the abolition of money (paper & cash currency) & it hasn't happened. They predict the end of books, newspapers & magazines but people still want to buy them.I think that some of the more 'fad' aspects of social networking will fade away & people will switch off their computers put the dog on a lead & get a healthy walk to the local bar to meet up with friends & strangers alike for a good old fashioned face-to-face chat;like they enjoyed doing in the 20th century!. _________________ Please click on: www.freewebs.com/buyonegetnonefree

People still want to buy books and magazines, but newspapers, not so much. Newspapers are dying, one by one; the ones who make themselves a presence on the web are the ones who will survive, but not as a physical "paper." They will be "news-sites." _________________ Watching television is not an activity. |

Hard currency is still around but one could argue that it shouldn't be: cumbersome and unhealthy (germ-passing), although there's still no subsitute for being paid cash-in-hand, is there?
Books and mags are still around because people - including me - love to "own" their own copy - the same reason why people still take and file copious unnecessary paper copies of documents that would probably suffice in soft copy.

Absolutely Melv. Most of the printed matter I purchase is Retro & pre-1980 (except 1980s British 'Mad' Magazines with your gags & articles in them! ) but I like to read today's newspaper, get the regular t.v. listings mag & I am always on the lookout for any new autobiographies of faded stars!!. _________________ Please click on: www.freewebs.com/buyonegetnonefree
