| I don't know where the piece is from, but my blind guess would be the 1965 Fall Preview issue of TV Guide. It could also be an NBC-commissioned ad. It's 50/50 as to whether Jack Davis was even with MAD when he drew the above piece-- he left with Kurtzman in 1956, and returned sometime in 1965. Wherever it's from, though, it looks great. |

Although it is totally different, this piece reminds me of the cover art Norman Mingo did for the wraparound cover of MAD #35.

| The illustration is from the 1965/66 Fall Preview issue of TV Guide (September 11-17, 1965). It is an NBC ad that consists of three double page spreads. The small size doesn't do it justice! |

| According to the book "The Art of Jack Davis", the NBC ad was the first work he did in TV Guide. The checklist says that it was a fold out, but it isn't in my copy. Through July of '85 it lists art for 66 issues--at least 23 covers. |
