EMMY RATINGS CRASH AND BURN...
I guess nobody cares about what the mainstream media tells us we're supposed to care about (anymore).

It's because we can view the list of winners on our smart phones as soon as it happens. And that was really the only reason people watched in the past: to find out who won.

We don't care about the cheesy productions numbers, we only care a little bit about the opening monologue (which is usually a watered down version of the host's usual act), and we certainly don't care to hear the stilted banter between the presenters. Why watch a 3 hour plus awards show when we can read a list of the winners in a few minutes' time?
